About the AMB in imageAMB
I got my first camera when I was 10 years old.
It was my mother's discarded Brownie camera. |
I had a lot of fun with that camera.
Took many black and white photos of the trailer park I lived in and my friends there. |
At 13 I joined my school's AV Club and became obsessed with creating images.
I was in heaven at every club meeting. |
At 17 I joined the US Army.
I worked in Military Intelligence and traveled much of Europe. |
After that, I landed on Long Island.
For years I worked in restaurants. I liked it, but wasn't living "my life's purpose" yet. |
During that time, I attempted an acting career.
I did a bunch of commercials. Some television. |
I did some stand-up comedy.
That's where I found out that I like to make people laugh, but not on stage. |
And then one day, I was taping a show for the SciFi Channel.
I noticed that everyone on the other side of the camera was having more fun than I was. |
The next day I signed up at SCCC to learn TV Production.
I took to this like a duck to water. |
My first job out of college was stage manager of the Maury Povich Show.
I became a producer, and then worked for Tyra Banks, Nate Berkus, and Jerry Springer. |
I won an Emmy while I was at the Tyra Banks Show.
I have been nominated 3 times since. |
Today I work as a video producer/shooter/editor/writer and of course, as a photographer!
|
I have been a photographer for over 30 years. I understand what needs to happen both in front of and behind the camera, and I try my best to be the best I can be. I also love what I do, and consider myself to be one lucky human being.
The journey continues.
